The National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Technology banned this Wednesday through its publication in the Official Bulletinmoon olive oil brand due to various administrative irregularities. The measure is in force throughout the national territory.

The Resolution 5224/2024 establishes the prohibition of the preparation, fractionation and marketing throughout the national territory, and on online sales platforms, of the product: “Extra virgin olive oil from the “Chango” brandRNE N° 12000579, RNPA N° 1200612, Chilecito – La Rioja” in any presentation, lot and expiration date.

Regarding the reasons, the norm indicates the lack health records and be falsely labeled by stating on the label a non-existent RNPA and an RNE corresponding to an unauthorized establishment.or for the production of the aforementioned product, resulting in consequently being a illegal product.

It also stipulates the prohibition of the marketing throughout the national territory of any product displayed in its RNPA health record label No. 1200612for being a falsely labeled product that uses a non-existent RNPA number, resulting in it being illegal.

In its recital it explains that the present actions begin from the consultation of an individual before the National Food Institute in relation to the product that would comply with current food regulations.

At the same time, he adds that the INAL carried out, through the Federal Information System for Control Management of Food, federal consultations aimed at the Food Safety Directorate of the province of La Rioja in order to consult the records displayed on the product label; who answered that the number of National Registry of Food Products 1200612 is non-existent and that National Establishment Registry 12000579 It corresponds to an authorized establishment, but it is not authorized for the production of oils.

Faced with this, it was established that the product is in violation for lacking health records and being falsely labeled by stating on the label a non-existent RNPA and an RNE corresponding to an establishment not authorized for the production of the product under investigation, turning out to be a illegal product.

It also adds that since it is a product that cannot be reliably and clearly identified as produced, processed and/or divided in a specific establishment, They may not be manufactured in any part of the country, nor marketed or sold in the territory of the Argentine Republic.

Finally, it ensures that in response to the detailed circumstances and in order to protect the health of citizens from the consumption of illegal products, whenever they are food products that lack registration, which is why their traceability, conditions cannot be guaranteed. of production, its quality with adequate levels of control under the conditions established by current regulations and its safety, The Department of Food Regulations of the INAL recommends prohibiting the production, fractionation and marketing of the aforementioned food throughout the national territory.as well as all those products that indicate the aforementioned RNPA on their labels.
