Pernod Ricard proudly presented its annual event, “Responsib’all Day,” in its 12th edition. This is an event celebrated worldwide, which has the participation of more than
20,000 employees and is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness through participatory activities, impactful workshops and inspiring conferences. This year’s theme focused on “Circular Economy” and addressing “Overshoot Day”, emphasizing the urgency of adopting sustainable practices to mitigate environmental impact.
Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s demand for ecological resources and services in a given year exceeds what the Earth can regenerate in that year. This critical point highlights the need to adopt more sustainable consumption and production patterns.
During the event, we had as a special guest Arturo Islas Allende, an environmental activist who spoke about climate change and the importance of individual actions. “People believe that environmental care measures such as taking care of water from home do not help, but of course they do help if we all do it,” he mentioned.
Subsequently, the Cauce Ciudadano Foundation organized 15 workshops for all the company’s collaborators where they were taught various activities such as: Artistic Recycling, Composting, Eco-fin, Recycled Mural, Textile Upcycling, Digital Circularity, Holistic Sustainability, Recycling Area, Garden Pollinator, among others.
Likewise, from Arandas, Jalisco, the speaker Mel Veytía from “Vive Sin Basura” participated, an influencer and environmental activist who, in collaboration with the Alternative Agroindustry Optimization Center (COAA), presented the conference: I am only a person, What I can do?
In addition, the company’s collaborators in Arandas and Oaxaca participated in a workshop for transforming vinasse and bagasse to turn them into ecological bricks. They worked from the mixture to the finished bricks that will become the foundations of a space donated to the Casa Hogar San Francisco de Asís y la Niña Milagrosa AC
Finally, the Director of Sustainability and Social Responsibility of Pernod Ricard Latin America, Mónica Rodriguez, concluded “Today, we were able to live a wonderful experience in which we had the opportunity to learn things about everyday circularity; how we can make a difference in our daily lives at home, in the office. We had various practical and theoretical workshops where we learned that with these types of actions we can make a difference”
Responsib’all Day 2024 is presented as a unique opportunity to learn about sustainable and circular practices, listen to experts in the field and participate in practical workshops that seek to generate a positive impact on our communities and the environment.
