During the first half of 2024, the Almenara Benefit Network has immunized more than 28,437 insured and uninsured nationally against influenza. This action is part of the strategy promoted by the current management, led by Dr. María Elena Aguilar Del Águila, to strengthen the first level of care and promote a culture of prevention.

Along these lines, and under the principle of bringing health closer to the population, 52 vaccination campaigns have been carried out, during which approximately 1,900 people have been protected and 2,487 vaccines have been administered. On this occasion, and thanks to an inter-institutional strategic alliance with the Alianza Lima Sports Club, an immunization day was held for the first professional women’s soccer team of said club, as well as its coaching staff.

“For us, as athletes, vaccination is extremely important because it allows us to be protected, avoid getting sick and perform better on the field,” said Adriana Lucar, the team’s forward. At the same time, she called on all the blue and white fans to get vaccinated to prevent respiratory diseases.

Who should get vaccinated against influenza?
Ms. Castillo pointed out that the entire population should receive an annual dose of the influenza vaccine, and placed special emphasis on children under five years of age, older adults and people with hypertension, diabetes and asthmatics, in order to prevent severe illness. said respiratory disease.

More than 200 thousand vaccinated
So far in 2024, EsSalud has vaccinated more than 200 thousand people, of all ages, against influenza, pneumococcus and COVID-19 across all its networks. The institution is supplied with vaccines nationwide, and both insured and uninsured can access them for free at any health facility.
