The Reconquista Public Services Cooperative Ltda. warns about precautions in excavations near gas pipelines

The Reconquista Public Services Cooperative Ltd. has issued an important warning to the community about the safety measures necessary to carry out excavations in areas with gas pipes.

The cooperative urges all people and companies that need to carry out excavations to previously request the gas network plan to know the exact location of the pipes in the work area. This will allow the necessary precautions to be taken to avoid any damage that could affect safety and gas supply.

Four recommended measures:

Request the gas network plan: This first step is crucial to know in advance if there are gas pipes in the excavation area and their exact location.
Carry out manual and cautious excavations: Before using heavy machinery, it is important to manually identify the exact location of the gas pipes on the sidewalk and establish the necessary safety measures.
Communicate date and time of the start of the excavation: With the plan in hand and the presence of pipes confirmed, the cooperative must be informed about the start of the work. An inspector from the cooperative will approach the site to provide technical assistance and mark the affected sector.
Work with caution: Once the pipeline has been identified and marked, all work must be carried out with the utmost caution, respecting the inspectors’ recommendations and using excavation tools safely.
