In this sense, the Vietnamese head of the sector called on ministries, sectors, agencies, organizations, local authorities, companies and all citizens to adopt practical measures to resolve these phenomena and protect the environment. He also called for strict control of waste from construction, industry and agriculture, to ensure that it is treated in accordance with environmental standards before being dumped.
World Environment Day was launched this year with the theme “Land restoration, fight against drought and desertification”, taking into account that today up to 40 percent of the planet’s land surface is degraded, directly affecting half of the world’s population and threatening almost half of global GDP.
