According to the results of a survey by the Factum firm, if the national elections were held this Sunday, 43 percent would vote for the FA.

To win in the first round, October 27, a majority of 50 percent plus one of the votes is required.

Factum awarded 30 percent to the National Party (PN), 12 percent to Colorado (PC), five to Cabildo Abierto (CA), three percent to the Independent Party, one to Unidad Popular, two percent to other parties and four to blank or voided cent.

For this measurement, the undecided variable was not incorporated.

The sum gives 50 percent to the government coalition.

At this point in the 2019 election year, the parties in the coalition that governs today accounted for 56 percent and the Front 38 percent.

Factum points out that “the Uruguayan political scene is highly competitive among the major political areas, with an improvement in the positioning of the Frente Amplio and a weakening of the sum of the parties that make up the Republican Coalition” in the face of the national election.

But he notes that these same figures should not be “associated with a possible result in a second round or with the composition of Parliament.”

“Nor should the sum of the parties of the Republican Coalition be understood as a result for a second presidential round,” he indicated.
