In this version of FILBo 2024, Confiar will deliver more than 20,000 copies of its editorial line free of charge. Thus, mini stories, booklets and story books will be given free of charge to attendees of the launches that Cooperativa Confiar will have at its stand. Among them, the recent micro-story “The Emperor’s New Clothes” stands out, written by Hans Christian Andersen, in which the author uses an invisible cloth to unmask the lie that the masses accept as truth out of fear.
In addition to So much truth, So much Lie. A composition of fictional literature that compiles publications by prominent authors, providing elements for a current and necessary reflection on the poetics, politics and ethics of truth and its other side, lies. And finally, Creciente, which tells the story of a group of animals that find in collective work the answer to the drought that the Earth is suffering, as a consequence of the exploitation of nature by large industries.
“Many wonder why Confiar has an editorial line if it is a financial cooperative. Because in the cooperative, money is a means to achieve other larger, more human objectives. Books are published because the objective of a cooperative is to make people more dignified and a better world. “Literature, reading, art, culture in general are the best weapons to transform the world”explains Sergio Valencia Rincón, member of Confiar’s Editorial Committee.
