Viña del Mar. Within the activities to contribute to educational and cultural training, encourage reading, the publishing industry and the protection of intellectual property, the Library and Cultural Activities Division of the Naval Polytechnic Academy organized an enriching day that brought together the students and naval servants with the presence of the national writer Guillermo Parvex.

The author was received by the Head of the Academic Department, Captain Rodrigo Fica, who explained the activities carried out in the department. Subsequently, a literary cafe was started, in which the young people in uniform had the opportunity to meet and interact with the historian and ask him questions about his works.

During the afternoon, a second meeting was held with the presence of the Director of Education of the Navy, Rear Admiral Sebastián Gutiérrez, which took place in the Hyatt room, where the author recognized for his best sellers, such as: “A Veteran of Three wars”, “Chilean secret service in the Pacific War”, “1978 the year we went to war”, among others. At the event, the writer was able to share his experiences and respond to the concerns of attendees, students and naval servants, exploring topics that ranged from history to reflections on the present and future of military narrative.

The Director of the Academy, Captain Gonzalo Beltrán, expressed his gratitude for the presence of the writer, highlighting the importance of promoting writing and reading as fundamental tools for intellectual and cultural development.

The visit culminated with the signing of books by the select guest, followed by a pleasant space of camaraderie sharing reflections and experiences around literature.
