Telemedicine, the future of health is the book that will be presented this Wednesday (5:30 pm) by the doctor caldense Camilo Barrera Valencia in the 36th edition of the Bogotá International Book Fair (Filbo).
The author is born in Riosucio and scientific director of the company BrainCo. The work compiles its experience of around 20 years dedicated to telemedicine, as well as scientific evidence on this matter. It also aims to present a new look at virtual health care among professionals, institutions and governments to improve the quality and safety of this modality.
According to Barrera, this book is not about what, but about how, because The discussion is no longer whether or not to do telemedicine, but in how to do it to achieve quality care.
Furthermore, according to the author, it comes at a key moment of changes to the health system in Colombia, “since quality telemedicine promises to be one of the main strategies to face the challenges and problems of access to health.”
The presentation will be in the Great Hall F of Corferias, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
