Choosing Dylan Thomas, a British writer, as his alter ego, the Mexican poet María Baranda, produced the texts that make up “Dylan and the Whales.”

With this collection of poems, the author obtained from Aguascalientes Fine Arts Poetry Award in 2003. “This book is like one’s search for oneself, for a new paradise. It has to do with the most basic and most important question to ask yourself, which is who I am?”, he pointed.

In an interview with El Sol del Centro, the writer She shared that, when reading the playwright’s work, she felt identified with the essence of his writings. “I really liked his passion. I began to translate part of his work and, once I finished, I felt that I wanted to say something of my own.of my own search, of where I am going, but already with that choice.”

During the ceremony, which took place At the Center for Research and Literary Studies of Aguascalientes (CIELA) Fraguas, the teacher Carla Faersler, jury of the 2024 edition of the Award; as well as the winner, Luis Ángel Vargas.
