Toyota began marketing the Crown in Argentina, a historic model from the Japanese brand that has been produced since 1955 and was never sold in our market. It’s a sedan, with crossover silhouette and finish on the back of the “fastback” style body, which seems to be the fashionable silhouette in the local market, after the arrival of the Fiat Fastback and the Citroën Basalt, which has a confirmed launch date in the second half of the year .

The body measures 4980mm long, 1840mm wide and 1555mm high, with a wheelbase of 2850mm. It has 225/45R21 tires and 21-inch wheels. The Crown presents a new Turbo Hybrid engine system. It combines a turbo internal combustion engine with an electric motor on the front axle and another on the rear axle (Rear eAxle). The system is associated with an automatic transmission with 6 mechanical speeds and a e-AWD all-wheel drive that reaches a maximum combined power of 349 hp and a maximum combined torque of 550Nm to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
The 2.4-liter turbo gasoline engine has 4 cylinders in-line DOHC, 16 valves, with distribution chain and direct and indirect injection that reaches a maximum power of 272 hp at 6000 RPM and a maximum torque of 460 Nm between 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM. In turn, the front electric motor delivers a power of 83 hp of power and 292 Nm of torque.
He rear electric motorfor its part, has a power of 80 hp power and 168.5 Nm of torque. According to Toyota, the Crown’s consumption in the city averages 7 liters per 100 km. While on the road or highway, the figure drops to 5.3 liters per 100 kmwhich delivers a combined consumption of 5.9 liters per 100 km traveled.
