It is called Wolf Electric Truck and it is a 100% electric pickup that has completed some promising tests that direct it towards the production chain.. Don’t miss any detail in the photos in the gallery, you will love it.

Alpha Wolf Truck, the 100% electric all-terrain pick-up

This device comes from a Californian startup called Alpha Motor Corporation. They appeared in 2020 presenting an electric stroller with a very attractive retro vibe. Since then they have been releasing 3D models of their future cars and one of the sweet ones is the truck I’m talking to you about today. So much so, that there is already a real model that has been tested.

The company’s goal is to create affordable yet high-quality electric vehicles.. A perhaps more forgotten sector is that of those who need a car with off-road capabilities for work or even as a daily vehicle to take them from the countryside where they live to the city. The Wolf series are a type of single, double, extended bed, RWD, AWD pickups with different features that satisfy the needs of different customers.

Will this be the cheap, quality electric truck we all want?

Alpha Wolf 4×4 and 4×2 specifications

Let’s start with autonomy. Although they aim to reach up to 565km, the model tested and shown during the SEMA SHOW in November last year had a range of just over 275 miles (about 442km). We have the option of a single motor and rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive with dual motors. It goes from 0-100 in less than 5 seconds, can tow up to 1,360kg, has a fast charger and a battery cooler/warmer.

Outside we have measurements of 4,828mm long, 1,872mm wide and 1,768mm high. The bed measures 1,828mm by 1,490mm with a depth of 450mm. It is equipped with 17-inch Black Rhino wheels with dirt tires, Full LED lighting, bumpers on all four sides and a top bar with high-range lights. It is not a particularly large pickup for the American market, but it seems to me that it has an appearance that breaks with what is established, marking a retro-modern aesthetic.

Inside we find simple and elegant finishes of apparent quality. with two premium seats, digital instrument panel, central infotainment screen, physical buttons for the climate, high-quality sound system and Bluetooth connectivity.

Perhaps the aesthetics want to be too premium to be used as a work vehicle, but its dimensions, design and supposed usability in relation to the price would put it as an option to be taken into account on the table in many markets.

Final details and conclusion

There is not much information available about the engines, but it was made known that the RWD version (entry range) would be powered by that single motor on the rear axle capable of developing a continuous power of 75kW (100CV) with a torque of 160Nm, reaching the maximum power and torque of 204CV and 350Nm respectively. We can then intuit that the AWD version would have one motor per axle by multiplying those figures by 2.

Regarding weight, we would talk about a minimum of around 1,800kg that can use a platform called E-Grid where the battery is located on the ground.. They claim to mount disc brakes on all four wheels with a regenerative system. The 4 are joined to the set by an independent suspension system on the front axle and leaf springs on the rear.

Obviously, if it has not yet been launched in the US market, it is too early to say that it could reach the European market.. However, I think it is a good option if electric is your thing and you can have a charger at home. If you live in the country you probably have the space for it. It could be an extremely practical vehicle to move around the farm without making noise, go down to the city if you need to, also entering the ZBE and, of course, if you like to take a route from time to time, the torque of the electric motor should be a joy to go on the roads. We’ll see where he ends up and keep track of him in the meantime.

There is not much decisive data about the motor and batteries, but what is clear is that there are many interested in purchasing one. Proof of this is that reservations can now be requested despite production not having started. Will it also reach our country?
