‘Sky Town 125 ABS’, Kymco’s new bet to conquer the city

It will be available in September in two exclusive colors for Spain (gloss gray and gloss white) for 2,999 euros.

Kymco Spain has announced its new urban proposal: a totally new small-wheel scooter model, the Sky Town 125 ABS. The new model, whose concept was presented at last year’s Milan Motor Show, has already entered production and its first European destination will be the Spanish market.

It will be available in September in two exclusive colors for Spain (gloss gray and gloss white) at a price of 2,999 euros with free registration and a Kymco trunk as standard.

Totaly new

Engine, chassis, design, measurements… It is a totally new vehicle in the Kymco range. Of the 427 elements that make up the vehicle, only 61 of them are already used in other vehicles of the brand and are mainly screws and small materials. It is an urban motorcycle, and stands out for being lighter, more compact and lower. It weighs 126 kilos, its wheelbase is 132 centimeters and its distance to the ground from the seat is 77 centimeters.

It has an 11 HP engine designed to reduce emissions to a minimum. They are very far from the permitted limits of the Euro 5 + regulations, which will be mandatory for all new motorcycles in 2025. Nitrogen Oxide levels are 36% of what is allowed; in Hydrocarbons it emits half of what is required; and in Carbon Monoxide it emits only 17.3%. The softness of its start is notable, which is directly linked to the new chassis, which in addition to being 20% more rigid, has a new lower engine mount.

It is equipped with a Bosch dual-channel ABS control unit, 220 mm front brake disc with 25 mm dual-piston caliper and 200 mm rear disc.

In addition, the new model has an exclusive trunk as standard. The vehicle offers a box under the seat with capacity for a full-face helmet, but is also equipped as standard with the original trunk, with the capacity to store another full-face or modular helmet. It has other interesting elements such as a double USB socket, a double glove box and a high-contrast LCD screen.

The vehicle will be the first motorcycle to neutralize its carbon footprint. “Our commitment is to neutralize 14.1 Kg of C02 per motorcycle unit. The new route of the ships, through Cape of New Hope, with a 56% longer distance, has given us an additional sustainability challenge to the known increase in costs and times. The new route increases our carbon footprint in the maritime route by 1.6 times, which is responsible for 75% of our total footprint,” explains Carlos Wang, General Director of Kymco Spain.
