Fulfilling a childhood dream and the desire of her maternal grandmother, the fifth year Medicine student, Vaihere Domingo Soto (22 years old), became the winner of Miss Supranational Chile 2024, so she will represent our country in the final international of this contest in Poland, next July.

Originally from Tahiti and whose name means River of Love in Tahitian, Vaihere managed to beat fifteen other candidates by passing the final stage, held at the Enjoy casino in Viña del Mar.

“Last year I came fourth in Miss Earth, I was named Miss Fire, and then I was invited to an international competition in Chengdu, China, where I was second runner-up. For Miss Supranational I participated in a casting in February and since then I have been preparing for catwalk, public speaking, English and I am trying to learn Portuguese,” she says.

Vaihere Domingo points out that she is very organized: “I have everything written down in my agenda. When I travel to Santiago I take advantage of studying, as well as while they do my makeup or my hair,” he confesses. For the last contest she was required to concentrate for three days and the previous week she had a rotation at the hospital in the mornings and classes in the afternoons, in addition to taking two tests.

The student has the support of her family and her UV Medicine colleagues, who accompanied her with banners to the contest and lend her notes when she has to be absent from a class. She will soon travel to Poland, where on July 6 she will be chosen as the 15th Miss Supranational, and she will stay there for three weeks. “This would be the last beauty pageant, because boarding school is coming. Then she would let a few years pass to go to Miss Universe Chile, with greater preparation,” she says.

Asked about the message to transmit to future generations, she says that she would like to inspire others to pursue their dreams through education. “For me, studying medicine was a dream. It is difficult, but if you have the desire and fight for it, you can achieve it,” she expresses.
