Cheese can help you live longer, according to wellness study

He Mental well-being is associated with healthy agingregardless of socioeconomic level, according to a study published in Nature Human Behavior.

The findings suggest the importance of mental health in promoting longevity and resilience to stress in aging.

The connection between mental well-being and physical health outcomes has been the subject of extensive research and debate.

Previous observational studies have suggested a link between positive mental health and improved aging processesincluding a reduced susceptibility to disease and increased life expectancy.

However, The causal nature of this relationship remains unclear.largely due to potential confounding factors, such as personal socioeconomic status and the challenge of reverse causality.

Tian-Ge Wang and colleagues at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine analyzed publicly available genetic data on people of European ancestry. to examine the effect of mental well-being on different aging outcomes.

In an analysis of data sets with up to 2.3 million people, they found that lPeople with better mental well-being tend to experience healthier aging (characterized by greater resilience, better self-rated health, and greater longevity).

Through their analysis of eight data sets with between 800,000 and 2.3 million people, Wang and his colleagues note that income, education and occupation were associated with better mental well-being, and that increased income was the most strongly related factor.

Furthermore, after examining 106 candidate mediators, they report that decreases in measures of a sedentary lifestyle (e.g., time watching television) and smoking can lead to improvements in well-being and healthier aging.

However, what is truly striking about the research is that among the elements that can improve mental well-being is, in addition to the consumption of fruits, there is the cheese intake.

Using 33 factors to connect mental health with physical agingresearchers found that while cheese was not directly responsible for longevity, higher intakes of cheese and fruit were prominent contributors to high well-being scores.

In fact, those who reported consuming camembert cheeses or other similar They had a positive impact of 3.67% on these healthy aging factors.

The findings highlight the importance of integrating mental health support into public health policies and aging research.

The authors suggest that Interventions aimed at improving mental well-being could be a viable strategy to improve healthy aging in all populations.

However, the study’s reliance on data from individuals of European ancestry means that there is a need for further validation of these findings in more diverse ethnic groups.
