What started as a crazy idea written on a paper napkin is about to become a reality. Within hours, La Renga will give one of the most innovative and massive shows in its history. With a 360° stage and an international level staging, the band will make Unique Stadium of La Plata a temple of rock.
What translates as one of the most iconic shows of the year – with a team of 120 systems, 70 bass and a rotating drum set– began as a dream and an idea on a small sheet that Gabriel Goncalvesthe band’s manager, gave Jose Palazzo. “Everything was born on a napkin from fat Gabi, as soon as he told me this madness, I told him: ‘I’m on.’ “They already had their idea, they worked on it as a band, and here in La Plata they welcomed us with open arms,” the renowned producer, who has worked with the group since 2002, began by saying in a chat with Teleshow.

La Renga, which will unleash all its rock on May 4 and 11 in La Plata before 50,000 people, will present the three new songswhich were part of his film, Totally possessedreleased in March in theaters nationwide.
With eagerness and enthusiasm on the surface, Palazzo gave details of the show and explained why it will be unique: “I haven’t seen a proposal like this in a long time, the stage is in the middle, it’s 360°. Each side has the same characteristics, as if it were a common stage, there are 120 hanging systems and 70 basses that surround the stage, the drums rotate and the entire setup is made so that it looks good in any position you are in.”
Beyond the numbers and technical issues of setting up the stage, Palazzo did not hide his astonishment at the commitment that the event represents in the field. “I had seen models, but When I entered the stadium I was amazed. Look what I did Paul McCartney and many international shows, it is a pride to have guys who invest so much and who think about how to give more to their people. “They are thinking all the time,” she said.
Furthermore, the producer opened up about the challenges that they had to overcome to fulfill the band’s dream. “Many variables had to be thought about because the energy is four times greater and all the generators that power the stadium are outside. One of the obstacles was precisely how to get four times more energy to the stage. All that work has a very big responsibility, we achieved it and it is incredible,” he confided.
Just like at the beginning of the year, the band returns to give a show near the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, a territory in which the group from Mataderos seems not to be able to perform. One of the few exceptions in recent years were the recitals at the Huracán stadium, Palacio Tomás A. Ducó, in 2017.
According to Palazzo, performing in CABA is far from being a concern for the band. “The Federal Capital issue is something that I no longer think has La Renga worried. It is very sad that in the most important city and where all the Argentine artists and international musicians from around the world play, everyone comes except La Renga. We will have to draw our own conclusions, we have had many rejections,” he said.
In any case, the producer does not rule out an eventual return to the City of Buenos Aires: “In Huracán first they denied us, then we sat down with (Horacio Rodríguez) Larreta. With this government, we have not asked for it. “It was not a proposal from the band.”
A few months after La Renga’s shows in the Avellaneda cylinder, in which the band inaugurated its 2024 stadium season with a three-hour recital, the atmosphere of party and rock continues to circulate through the blood of its fans. That is why production estimates a tide of 50,000 people for this weekend in La Plata.
A month and a half later, precisely on June 22, that feeling will move to the interior of the country, specifically to the city of Cordova. Headquartered in the stadium Mario Alberto KempesLa Renga prepares a recital for 55 thousand people. In that sense, taking into account the economic context of the country, Palazzo highlighted the band’s commitment.
“We invested 1.5 billion pesos in producing this show. Since 2002 I have worked with La Renga and when crises reach our necks they always respect even the last technician on their staff. The Kempes is the largest show in history. Paul McCartney put in 40 thousand, Madonna over 40 thousand and La Renga, 55 thousand. It has to do with his spirit of renewing and challenging himself,” the producer concluded.
