Until tomorrow the mega event De Niro Con will hold screenings of films such as ‘The Godfather Part II’, ‘Analyze This’, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘The Deer Hunter’.

Within this framework, the short film “De Niro, New York” was premiered in an innovative 360-degree format, with six screens and more than 50 speakers that surrounded the audience and created an audiovisual portrait of the actor.

This is an immersive short film, the first of its kind, produced by Little Cinema and exhibited within the Hexadome, a cutting-edge structure and format created by the Berlin Institute of Sound and Music.

Up to 50 characters played by the celebrity, from movies like Taxi Driver to The Irishman, converge here in this audiovisual attraction.

The film weaves together up to 50 iconic De Niro characters from various films, forging new connections and dialogue.

Surrounding the Hexadome is De Niro Is An Icon, an exhibition celebrating the career of Robert De Niro, highlighting themes and collaborative relationships spanning decades.

The special programming includes conversations with film legends such as Scorsese and Tarantino, colleagues of the honoree, and events that celebrate his role as a restaurateur.

At this celebration, the public can enjoy and discover rare photos of the Hollywood star, as well as annotated scripts, costumes, research materials and storyboards.

De Niro is co-founder, along with film producer Jane Rosenthal, of this film exhibition that emerged in 2002 and is now recognized as the Tribeca Festival.

As for the film competition, this year more than a hundred participated and in the recent awards ceremony the highest recognitions went to Griffin in Summer, which won the Tribeca founders’ award for best American film and best screenplay.

Its creator, Nicholas Colia, received a special mention from the jury in the category of new director.

In the international section, the best film was Bikechess, by the Kazakh Assel Aushakimova; in the documentary category, Hacking hate, by Swede Simon Klose; and in the Viewpoints competition, dedicated to innovative approaches, Come Closer, by the British Tom Nesher, won.

Several productions with a Latin American imprint also received awards, such as The Aroma of Freshly Cut Grass, by the Argentine Celina Murga, and Agárrame Strong, by the Uruguayans Ana Guevara and Leticia Jorge.
