Paramount+ has announced the release date for the second season of Tulsa Kingthe popular series starring Sylvester StalloneNew episodes will be available starting Sunday, September 15, 2024, in both Latin America and Spain.

Along with the news, the service streaming released a first trailer for this new installment, in which you can see Dwight (played by Stallone) and his team defending their growing criminal empire. “Tulsa belongs to me now,” the actor is heard saying in the trailer, making it clear that the challenges are far from over.

According to the official synopsis, the story will once again focus on Dwight’s team, which will face new threats, including the Kansas City mafia and a very powerful local businessman. Although the gang begins to consolidate its position, he realizes that they are not the only ones who wish to dominate the territory.

The clip also introduces us to several new antagonists, including Frank Grillo. The actor known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Purge franchise joins the cast as Bill Bevilaqua, a Kansas City mobster looking to expand his territory to Tulsa. Neal McDonough He also joins as Cal Thresher, a local businessman in conflict with Dwight’s empire.

Tulsa King is the brainchild of Taylor Sheridan, the mind behind other hits like Yellowstone. The series also features a strong cast including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Vincent Piazza, Tatiana Zappardino, Annabella Sciorra, Domenick Lombardozzi, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.

The production is currently carrying out its final weeks of filming in Oklahoma and Atlanta. As for the behind-the-scenes team, Taylor Sheridan, Terence Winter and Craig Zisk are executive producers, along with Stallone himself, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Braden Aftergood and Keith Cox. The program is made under the label of MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.

The second season was embroiled in controversy in recent months, after Sylvester Stallone was accused of creating a “toxic environment” on the recording set of Tulsa King 2, in Atlanta.

The 77-year-old actor reportedly made disparaging comments about the extras, referring to them as “fucking ugly” during a phone call with the show’s director and “making fun of their weight and disabilities”.

The news was initially reported by the series’ casting director, Rose Locke. Through her Facebook account, the aforementioned announced her departure from the project due to the aforementioned discrepancies. The post also alleged that Stallone asked for “young, pretty girls” to be “around” him while he was on set.

In an interview with TMZ, the showrunner, Craig Zisk, denied the reports and maintained that Locke’s departure was because she was criticized for not doing her job properly. Furthermore, he directly denied that Stallone had expressed any unpleasant comments about the team. The Golden Globe-nominated producer also noted that the performer’s wife, Jennifer Flavinwas present during the recordings.

SAG-AFTRA issued a statement about the allegations, and a source close to the production told Variety that the issue had been addressed on set by department heads, and was resolved by emphasizing the need for a respectful workplace.
