American actor Bill Cobbs He died at the age of 90 on the night of last Tuesday, June 25, at his home in Riverside, California. The news of the veteran actor’s death was confirmed by his publicist Chuck I. Jones and his family.

Cobbs was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 16, 1934. He died nine days after his 90th birthday.

“We are saddened to share the passing of Bill Cobbs. He passed away peacefully at his home in California. He was a beloved companion, older brother, uncle, surrogate father, godfather and friend, “He recently happily celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his dear loved ones,” wrote Thomas G. Cobbs, the actor’s brother, on his social networks.

For her part, actress and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph, mourned Cobbs’ death on her X account: “Bill Cobbs, Emmy winner, active actor and wonderful human being, made the transition to perform on a higher stage on June 25 after celebrating his 90th birthday on June 16.”

A life of acting

Bill Cobbs worked for eight years as a radar technician in the United States Air Force before beginning his prolific acting career in 1974.

His film debut was in the film ‘The Taking of Pelham One Two Three’. At that time, Cobbs did not even imagine that after that film his name would appear in nearly 200 film and television productions.

Despite this actor’s extensive career, the films that gave him the most fame were ‘The Bodyguard’ (1992), starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, and ‘A Night at the Museum’ (2006), starring Ben Stiller. and in which he played one of the security guards at the New York Museum of Natural History.
