Mayor of Támara under threat from terrorist groups and the municipality without a police station.

Mayor threatened by terrorist groups and the town without a police station, this is the x-ray of security in the municipality of Támara Casanare, where the current president William Forero Benítez, came several weeks ago requesting a security council with the civil and military authorities at the departmental level to address this delicate issue.

The soldiers had to come from Arauca to carry out an operation against alias Antonio Medina, so that the eyes of public opinion could rest on this region of northern Casanare and make this problem visible, especially in Támara, where for more than a year month the mayor has been the object of threats from criminal groups and until now, he only has the accompaniment of a police officer and only until now, as a result of the long-awaited security council, will the study be carried out by the UNP, to evaluate the level of risk that the local representative has.

You don’t need to be an expert to know this, although it is also understandable that there are protocols to be able to designate a security scheme for a possible protected person, what is reprehensible is the state’s pachydermic attitude towards this situation.

Added to all this is the fact that the town does not have a police station, at least with its own and adequate facilities, since the few units that guard the municipality are housed in the facilities of a school, in barely decent conditions for them. a human being and that obviously does not meet the technical specifications that a station should have, to offer security, not only to the police officers who inhabit it, but also to the community that surrounds it.

In addition to this, the structure is being evaluated for demolition, because it has structural failures and part of it is currently without a roof. This evaluation has been delayed, since the property is part of the historical legacy of the municipality.

It is expected that after this delicate problem becomes evident, a definitive solution will finally be implemented, which would greatly help to improve the perception of security, at least in the urban area of what was once one of the main economic centers of the region.

It is worth clarifying that this problem has been going on for a while and is not the exclusive responsibility of the current administration, but it is in its power to provide a prompt solution, not only for the lives of the mayor and the police officers who are at risk, but for the safety of everyone. the inhabitants of this municipality.
