With his company Evolti, electronic engineer Juan Manuel España is ready to build 10 solar farms that will bring energy to the municipality of Taminango

Evolti was born in 2020 thanks to the vision of Juan Manuel España, an electronic engineer from the University of the Andes who quickly became interested in the energy market. After a brief experience in the technology and sustainable energy company SOLshare, venturing into the creation of a foam products company and teaching classes at prestigious universities such as the Externado, the EIA or the Pontificia Bolivariana, he decided to start a company that, without knowing it at the time, would become one of the leaders of solar energy in the country.

Four years after its founding, Evolti has already developed and financed projects with solar panels for dozens of establishments, including hotels, shopping centers, warehouses and others, many of which have been concentrated in Nariño. For example, in 2022 they reached an agreement with Alkosto, from the Corbeta Group and the Mejía family, to install 373 panels in the large distribution center they have in Pasto, being until then the largest photovoltaic system in the Department.

However, the latter is about to change, since they are now preparing to build a large solar energy project in the Department located in the southwest of the country. They will start with a solar farm that they will call Naos 1 and which will be the first in the history of the place and from there they will go on to build another nine, a project for which in total they will require an investment of $40.5 billion.

Spain’s idea is to supply energy to the entire municipality of Taminango, which is located north of Nariño and which has historically been the scene of acts of violence. The first park alone will emit 2,247 MWh per year and will be able to avoid the emission of 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
