Mayor’s Office officially presented the Manizales 2024 Intercollegiate Sports and Culture Games

  • This year there will be competition in 39 sports, 14 more than the previous version.

The Municipal Administration, through the Sports Secretariat, officially presented the Manizales 2024 Intercollegiate Sports and Culture Games, which will be held with 39 disciplines, of which 12 are new in the city.

“What we are saying is to the city, but especially to the educational community, to our children from public and private schools, that we are going to start the Intercollegiate Schools with all the law, that is, as it should be, that we are going to to have sports venues in perfect condition, that we are going to have good referees, that we are going to have hydration, that we are going to have sports elements, that everyone is going to be able to participate,” highlighted the mayor, Jorge Eduardo Rojas Giraldo.

Registration will be open from May 1 until the last day of July, since the national finals of the past games must still be held.

The Manizales Selection

This year, it is expected to receive 12,000 young athletes with whom, in addition to the competition of the games, a seedbed will be projected: “We seek to give support to the leagues so that this is the seedbed from the Intercollegiate, we form our Manizales National Team and Let’s go throughout Colombia training our boys so that when they reach national championships, they are prepared. That is, everything is ready for sports and culture,” added the mayor of Manizales.

The municipal phase will take place from July 15 to August 15 and the competing disciplines will be:

The president also announced that the sports venues will be in perfect condition for the games: “We are going to put in the synthetic volleyball court. Second, we are going to adopt all the stages with chairs, the benches for the games, the places for the referees, the boards, the bathrooms, the places for the boys to change.
