Next weekend’s Celtic side picks itself, with one change from yesterday

It’s still six days away but I’m sure Brendan Rodgers is already pondering his team selection for the Glasgow Derbyor maybe he already knows the exact starting XI he intends to unleash on theRangers. The Celtic manager will be as impatient for the coming fight as the rest of us.

The Green Brigade’s nod to the Soldier’s Song at Celtic Park yesterday afternoon. It was great to hear it being sung too.

It shouldn’t be that difficult in all honesty as the side should pick Itself, with the likes of Kyogo, Matt O’Riley and Callum McGregor not only nailed on starters but all of whom have hit form at the perfect time. It would be unimaginable if any were to be left out.

Kyogo has been a bit quiet of late, but he hit a brace in a superb performance against Hearts and as we know he always performs in the Glasgow Derby matches so he’s a nailed on starter.

Supporting Kyogo will be Daizen Maeda and James Forrest. Maeda who was supposed to miss the rest of the season has made a remarkable recovery, and after getting some minutes in his legs from the bench yesterday, he will be a certain starter. Especially with the fear he gives James Tavernier.

On the opposite side will be James Forrest. Nicolas Kuhn has performed well recently, but I think James’ experience and form of him will get him the nod instead, and it will be throughly merited after his recent performances of him.

In the middle it will be the trio that started yesterday. Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate. Matt and Callum have been a bit below par recently, especially Callum, but yesterday both were outstanding and along with the talented Reo Hatate they will undoubtedly make up the midfield.

The back four will also be the same as yesterday. Cameron Carter Vickers Liam Scales, Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor, in front of Joe Hart. A settled and solid back line.

So barring any injuries that will most likely be on the side that will line up next Saturday lunch time. I’d be very surprised if it was anything different. So my Celtic team to take on theRangers on Saturday is as follows:

Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor; McGregor (c), Hatate, O’Riley; Forrest, Kyogo and Maeda
