It was carried out seventh World Congress of Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue “A Path Towards Peace” during this morning at CEMA University. The former leaders were present at the meeting. Eduardo Duhalde; José María Aznar, from Spain; and Jorge Quiroga Ramirez, from Bolivia. They also attended Secretary of Worship of the Nation, Francisco Sánchezand the Israeli ambassador, Eyal Sela.

The event featured three dialogue tables in which the different speakers expressed their opinions regarding the events that affect today’s world.

For its part, the Vice President Victoria Villarruel He expressed a warm greeting that he sent in writing. “Religious freedom and coexistence in Argentina is an example for the whole world. For this reason, I celebrate spaces like this, which promote dialogue and coexistence between cultures, ideology and religions,” she stated.

During the meeting, the former presidents participated in the debate table “The Abraham Accords are a path to peace” in which they contributed their geopolitical view of current world events, moderated by the renowned journalist Carolina Perín.

“The situation in the Middle East does not give space for CNN to show what is happening in Haiti or Venezuela,” said the former president of Bolivia.

Eduardo Duhalde, the former Argentine president, also referred to the situation in the country and indicated: “I do not believe in party governments, party governments are a mistake. Democracy must be communal, there is no need to fight. “We Argentines have to love each other and treat each other like brothers.”

Meanwhile, his Spanish counterpart, José María Aznar, who governed during the periods between 1996 and 2004, spoke about the conflict in the Middle East. In this sense, he noted: “The Abraham Accords have two fundamental strategic elements. One is to seek stable peace in a region like the Middle East, based on Iran’s security and position. It is necessary to resume the agreements with Iran and also between Saudi Arabia and Israel.” In addition, he stated his position in support of the Israeli people and called to “defend Israel because it is the only democracy in the area.”

Quiroga Ramírez, former president of Bolivia, also alluded to the moments that other countries are going through: “The situation in the Middle East does not give space for CNN to show what happens in Haiti or Venezuela”. And he recalled: “It will be 30 years since the attack on the AMIA and in the discussion it seems to be an issue only for Argentina. Six Bolivian citizens also died there, The attack on the AMIA is everyone’s issue”.

Another of the dialogue tables followed the motto “Thinking about the transformation of Argentina 2024-2054” and was moderated by journalist Maximiliano Montenegro. There, the Secretary of Worship, Francisco Sánchez, expressed: “Argentines are experts in criticizing each other, but there is no possible peace if there is no freedom.” And he added: “I am convinced that we have a great future that we have to build together. “We are a wonderful country and an example for the world of interreligious dialogue.”

“We Argentines are very resistant to failure. We should not repeat some economic circumstances,” said Mr. Gustavo Marangoni, who also participated in the debate. And he added: “I want a strong market, based on private enterprise, in a context with a State that sets the rules of the game and enforces them.”

For his part, the rector of UCEMA, Edgardo Zablotsky, said: “This meeting has never been more timely, taking into account the conflicts that the world is experiencing and thinking, from this space, of a path towards peace.” In turn, he stated: “The world should move towards educational freedom”.

The president of Congress Gustavo Guillermé He also referred to the conflict in the Middle East and demanded “the immediate release of the 133 kidnapped by Hamas”. “This Congress, which has had as its motto since its beginnings ‘A path to Peace’, only wants to be the vehicle that helps unity, to the meeting of each and every one of the Argentines. We deserve to live in peace, without hatred or resentment, we are all children of the same God and in our case we are all Argentine brothers who seek Union and reunion between all the Argentine people,” he added.

The president of Congress referred to the Middle East conflict

In turn, he thanked the commitment of Gerardo Bongiovanni, president of the Libertad Foundation, and the CEMA University. He also extended his gratitude to Keren Kayemet LeÍsrael Argentina and Gustavo Libardi, president of the Scientology Church of Argentina, for their unconditional support of the “A Path Towards Peace” project in Argentina, Israel and Europe scheduled for all of 2024.
