Once again, a traffic accident was recorded on the vehicular bridge between Valle del Lili and Bochalema, as was known during the night of last Thursday, April 25.
This is the fourth accident that has occurred in the same place, as several vehicles have been embedded in the ‘famous’ railing of the bridge. This time it was a BMW brand truck.
It should be noted that the community in southern Cali has been concerned about the number of traffic accidents that have occurred in this sector. For this reason, on April 23, after learning of the crash involving a Renault brand truck, the Mobility Secretariat demarcated the road in order to avoid future accidents.
On several occasions, the authorities have asked Cali residents to slow down in this sector, due to the high accident rates.
“Demarcation and signage are not enough, “if the citizen in his vehicle does not pay attention when driving and if he does not respect the speed limits”the official noted at the time.
Under that premise, Tabares emphasized that the maximum speed allowed in that sector is 30 km/h. “Any speed greater than this puts us at risk. Let’s be careful,” he concluded.
Lack of lighting in the sector
One of the aspects that citizens have reported is the lack of lighting in the area, which is why they have repeatedly asked for support from the Municipal Administration to improve this situation, since visibility problems could be related to accidents.
Cali Councilor Roberto Ortiz spoke about the traffic accidents that have happened in the same sector.
“Accidents continue on the famous Bochalema bridge in the south of Cali. “The lack of lighting is total on both sides,” Ortiz wrote on his X account, a social network formerly known as Twitter.
In that sense, the councilor raised his complaint. “This road work presented problems from the beginning and we denounce that, The disorder is such that apparently it has not been formally delivered to the municipality.”
