“I’m not rich like you,” Petro mocks María Fernanda Cabal for claims about the alleged purchase of a plane for the campaign

In the midst of the investigations being carried out by the National Electoral Council for the alleged violation of funding limits for the Petro Presidente campaign, which has the national government on alert, a striking message was published by the Colombian president.

This Friday, April 26, Petro posted a message against María Fernanda Cabal in which he laughed at the senator from the Democratic Centerfor asking about the alleged purchase of a plane for the presidential campaign.

The head of state noted: “Hahahahaha. “I am not rich like you.”

Cabal had questioned Petro on the same network: “Where is the US$2 million plane supposedly bought for the Petro campaign? Every day more reasons for impeachment: article 109 of the Political Constitution”.

However, the specific case regarding the aircraft is nothing to laugh at. Recently, a statement was made known by Ómar Hernández, creator of Daily Cop, cryptocurrency firm that reportedly financed a plane for the candidate.

In that sense, Hernández, accused by the Colombian Justice of money laundering and massive and habitual collection of money, crimes that he would have committed through his cryptocurrency company Daily Cop, spoke with WEEK.

According to his lawyer, his client will show how the company Sadi SAS, dedicated to aviation, “through the front man Carlos Restrepo, He bought a small plane and put it at the service of the presidential campaign with the money raised by the Daily company., for an agreed value of 1,000,000 USD. The agreement between the company and the campaign was made through Ricardo Roa,” as the renowned jurist explained.

Furthermore, from the jail where he remains held, Ómar Hernández told WEEK who is a direct witness of the meeting between Sebastián Betancourt (owner of Daily Cop) and Ricardo Roa, “in which the contribution in kind to the presidential campaign was agreedthrough the trips made by the presidential candidate.”

Faced with this scandalous revelation, the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, reacted through his social networks, pointing out that that information is a lie.

The head of state indicated in his personal account x That type of transport is better to rent and he concluded: “It’s not even gross.”

“This is the worst lie mounted against my campaign. The law prohibits purchasing goods with campaign resources”, he expressed.

And he advanced in the message he published this Thursday, April 25: “Why would I want a plane if I don’t even have a car? Would you put it in the name of Colombia Humana, which has no headquarters? Would you buy it at the beginning of the campaign to sell it later?”

Should I waste my campaign money buying such an expensive device when it is better to rent it? Not even gross. “This is how they have filled the campaign with fake news,” Petro explained.

Next, Hernández explained to this medium “that The key point is not the possible violation of electoral limits, since they have been outside the law for a long time.. Here the point is different, because today the Attorney General’s Office established that the Daily Cop cryptocurrency is a massive and habitual collection of money that affected more than 200,000 people.

This – according to Hernández – is what he intends to point out “is that those daily with which the trips of the presidential candidate to Mr. Carlos Restrepo of Sadi SAS were paid are the product of an illicit activity”.

He highlighted that “the presidential campaign benefited from this huge scamwhich has affected Colombian society.”
