Seven Thieves in Casanare Behind Bars

The Attorney General’s Office in the Casanare department got judges with a guarantee control function to impose security measures in prison against six men, and a measure of preventive confinement against a 17-year-old adolescent. All are alleged responsible for thefts in the Casanare department.

On April 17, 2024, in the center of Yopal, where a woman was traveling on her motorcycle, she was apparently threatened with a sharp weapon by Brayan Alexis Zeas Corredor. The victim became unstable and fell on the road, causing several injuries. The alleged criminal seized a camándula valued at six million pesos.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crime of qualified and aggravated theft.

On the other hand, on April 25, Javier Adolfo Durán Fuentes and Darwin Alberto Guevara Martínez were captured in flagrante delicto, who were breaking the windows of a premises located in the Villas de la Paz neighborhood of the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, to later seize a laptop, a television and a tattoo machine; elements valued at four million pesos. These men fled the scene, but were caught by the National Police.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with the crimes of theft and damage to other people’s property.

In the Villa Nariño neighborhood of Yopal, on April 23, Vidal Yesid Rojas Lavado was captured and a 17-year-old minor was arrested after they allegedly entered a home and seized a television.
