As part of the actions in defense of animals carried out by the departmental government, the discussion ‘Animals in the Development Plan’ was held in the main auditorium of the La Triada library in Yopal.
The event was developed in collaboration with the Government Secretariat, together with the Administrative Department of Planning and the Secretariat of Economic Development, Agriculture, Livestock and Environment.
Jessica Avella, director of Community Development, praised the altruistic work of each animal leader in Casanare, “it is widely known, and this is confirmed today by Governor César Zorro in this forum, that we are fully committed to animal rights, This is what we owe to the holding of this call. The discussion included the participation of Congresswoman Andrea Padilla Villarraga, widely recognized for her career and work in the Senate, in defense of animal rights. Likewise, the Deputy Superintendent of the Environmental Police, Andrés Romero, and Deputy Eduardo Antolínes participated in the event, who attended in the company of his pet.
In favor of animals, as lines within the Departmental Development Plan soon to be socialized, the following were established:
The formulation and implementation of the departmental animal protection and welfare policy, with the implementation of education programs to raise awareness about the care and respect for animals.
The construction and implementation of the public veterinary animal welfare hospital at the departmental level.
The acquisition of the mobile veterinary medical unit for animal welfare.
The implementation of free sterilization campaigns for pets at the departmental level.
