TThree soldiers were killed during combats between the Army and dissidents in rural Algeria, in Cauca.
According to the Army, since May 2, fighting has been taking place against members of the Carlos Patiño Residual Structure in the Bolivia village of this municipality.

“It should be noted that these combats occurred after the neutralization of three of its members in the events of May 2 and “the subsequent capture in flagrante delicto of five more members, from whom their weapons, explosives, ammunition and administration material were seized.”reported the Military Forces.
“The deployed troops were supported with powerful artillery fire, managing to repel the attack. Furthermore, “With the purpose of securing the area and the integrity of the wounded personnel, the troops used techniques, tactics and procedures to safeguard their lives and position themselves in a safe place, in accordance with military doctrine and the adverse weather conditions of the area.”they indicated in the Army.

They explained that the five captured, alleged members of the GAO-r ‘Carlos Patiño’, will be left at the disposal of the competent authorities.
“The National Army deeply regrets the death of our brave soldiers, who died in the framework of the operations carried out to ensure the safety and tranquility of the residents of the Micay Canyon, for which we reiterate our deepest condolences to their families. and friends at this difficult time,” they indicated in the Third Division.
