With the vote, free, equal, direct and secret, 487 delegates to the eight municipal assemblies of the People’s Power of Cienfuegos, of the 498 provided for in the basic part, elected the provincial governor and vice-governor, responsibilities that, from now on, fall to Yolexis Rodríguez Armada, and Rolando José Rajadel Alzuri, respectively.
According to reports, both companions were elected by obtaining more than half of the valid votes cast, which supports the election, which took place in complete compliance with the Constitution and the Law 127/2019, Electoral Lawwhich rules that the governor and the provincial vice-governor are elected by the delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of each territory, constituted by right in electoral colleges.
In each territory the electoral act was presided over by the presidents of the Municipal Electoral Councils and the deputies who were previously appointed to the Council of State, with the accompaniment of the main party and government authorities of the territories.
Amada Zequeira Angarica, president of the Provincial Electoral Council, recognized the normality, transparency, legitimacy and impartiality on the part of the electoral authorities acting in the eight municipalities of the central-southern region.
The Governor is the highest executive-administrative person in his province, he organizes and directs the Provincial Administration, for which he is assisted by the corresponding administrative entity and is responsible to the National Assembly of People’s Power, the Council of State, the Council of Ministers. and the Provincial Council, to whom it reports and reports on its management, at the opportunity and on the topics requested.
For his part, the Lieutenant Governor fulfills the powers delegated or assigned to him by the Governor. Likewise, he replaces the Governor in case of absence, illness or death, in accordance with the procedure provided for in the Law; At the same time that he is responsible to the Governor, he is accountable to him and reports on his management periodically.
