On Saturday, May 4, starting at 6 p.m., the “Las Lavanderas” amphitheater of Xibi Xibi Park will be the scene of the opening of the fifth edition of the Dance Festival, a cultural event organized by the Municipality of San Salvador de Jujuy, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with the support of various cultural groups. This event, year after year, seeks to make visible the traditions and innovation in the art of dance. Entrance is free and open.

The opening day will feature the participation of prominent local dance groups and special guests who will represent various styles, from folklore to contemporary dances: Sangre Caporal, Arte Ballet, Pasión Mix, Sentires de la Danza, The Move Crew and Mega The Move Crew, Portal de mi País, Carla Zarzoso and Paola Calisaya Scaglia, DJ Anita Boero will provide music and Sergio “Rulito” Armata will entertain.

In this regard, the general director of Culture of the Municipality, Joaquín López, highlighted the great artistic proposal, “it is the fifth edition of the Dance Festival, one of the activities and proposals that gives us a lot of joy, a lot of pride, because it brings together a lot of artists, from all expressions within dance, urban dance, folklore, Latin American dance, tango, and will extend throughout the month of May, starting tomorrow at the ‘Las Lavanderas’ amphitheater, 18 hours.”

At the same time, he invited the entire community to participate in an event for children, “on Sunday the 5th, we will also be with a free and free activity, at the Municipal Select Cinema Theater, we have the children’s dance festival, which will begin at 5 p.m., a very nice proposal, because there are all the expressions of dance, carried out by childhood, so everyone is also invited to follow the Cultura Muni networks and the website http://culturamunijujuy.gob .ar/ that there we will have all the information on the upcoming agenda.”

This event, like each of the proposals that will take place during the month of May, not only seeks to entertain, but also to promote appreciation and respect for the various expressions of dance in our community. This year, workshops and talks will also be included, aimed at training and inspiring dancers of all ages.

Schools and folk and retro groups are invited to participate in “Dance Festival” events.

The Directorate of Culture called on schools and groups of the folk and retro genres to register and participate in two musical events to be held within the framework of the V edition of the “Dance Festival” in the city during the month of May. The process can be carried out until May 7 through the form available on the culturamunijujuy.gob.ar website

From the Directorate of Culture dependent on the Secretary of Tourism and Culture, it was highlighted that this is the V edition of the Dance Festival, which takes place during the month of May every year, so the participants were invited artists of the aforementioned genres, to participate in the two events with time and place to be confirmed; Plaza que Danza: Argentine folklore, on May 25 and Retro 80 “Gapul y Rock” on May 17.
