“They are aimed at future professionals and are a stimulus to generate scientific vocations” – CHACODIAPORDIA.COM

The Chaco Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICCTI) reported a new call for applications for the “Chaco + i Scholarships”, which will be open until May 12. In this edition, 35 scholarships will be awarded to advanced undergraduate students who want to do internships in research institutes located in our province. The program will last 12 months and the selected students will receive training, support and a monthly payment of 80 thousand pesos.

“The call is aimed at university students from public and private institutions who can apply for research and development groups that exist within the institutions of the scientific system and located in our province. We are talking about the UNNE, the UNCAUS, the UTN, the Conicet institute that are located here and the INTA,” remarked the president of the ICCTI, Delfina Veiravé, looking at the studies of CITY TV.

He said that “it is aimed at strengthening and also motivating future professionals to dedicate themselves to research activity, giving this experiential experience of what it is like to work with researchers on different projects. And it is a stimulus to generate scientific vocations.”

“We closed on May 12 to be able to evaluate and select the scholarship recipients, so that they can start their scholarships on July 1. There are many interested parties. Also, previously, we have asked the institutions for the list of projects they have and the number of scholarship holders they could have. Based on that list, we have made a selection of the topics so that they can apply,” Vieravé detailed about the call launched days ago.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the Institute hopes to continue this line of scholarships with the “idea of rotating these places of preparation in order to cover a significant number of topics in which future graduates and advanced students can insert topics that are of strategic interest for the province.” “One of the objectives of the institute is to be able to expand the base of human resources linked to scientific activity and that, many times, requires being able to have a background before finishing the degree,” he said.

“We also offer training, they will have a tutor, a person who will guide them in that work during that year, and we will give training that is complementary to their training,” he explained.

Veiravé recalled that the “institute aims to promote, sustain and stimulate the training of highly qualified human resources for our province, not only to strengthen the scientific system but so that these human resources can also be inserted in public and private activity.”

Along these lines, he announced that through the Enfoque program “scholarships will soon be awarded to train postgraduate professionals, which are oriented to topics of interest for the development of the province and internships so that advanced students can have an experience in training of the structures of the State and train people who can improve the administration.”

Asked about human resources of this nature in the province, Veiravé maintained that the “critical mass of researchers and scientists based in the national territory is highly concentrated, more than 70% of these human resources are centered in the center of the country. ”. “The Argentine north has been increasing, as a result of policies that have also been promoted for public universities, for the scientific system in general, but the data indicates that 4% are located in our region,” she noted.

“That is why it is a public policy to stimulate and generate resources and strategies to strengthen this growth and evolution in the training of highly qualified human resources. Chaco is the only province in the NEA that has three national universities, in addition to private universities, it is a large capital and the link between the activity carried out in these universities, the private sector, entrepreneurs and the public sector must be strengthened. so that the knowledge generated can be applied to solve daily, concrete problems that affect the community,” he stated.
