The Municipality of Tafí Viejo is moving towards environmental sustainability with the implementation of an urban waste separation system. This initiative seeks not only to reduce the amount of waste generated and eliminate illegal deposits that deteriorate the natural and urban landscape. To facilitate citizen participation, they have established Green Dotsavailable 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

These recycling centers are equipped with large capacity containers intended to receive recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and tetra packs. Separation at source, which is promoted from these points, is crucial to ensure adequate treatment of waste and its eventual recycling. Waste has been categorized into two main types for its correct disposal:

  • Dry or inorganic: They include materials such as plastics, papers, cardboard, rags, fabrics, glass (insulated), Styrofoam and cans.
  • Wet or organic: They include raw and cooked food remains, bread, peels, seeds, pits, coffee and tea remains, as well as leaves and flowers.

The Green Points have been strategically located in five key areas of Tafí Viejo to ensure equitable access by all residents:

  1. Lomas de Tafí, at the intersection of Quipildor Street and Raya Avenue.
  2. Central area, on the corner of Uttinger and 9 de Julio streets.
  3. Paraguay Street, between San Juan and Mendoza.
  4. Intersection of Laprida and José Colombres streets.
  5. Los Pocitos, on Martín García street on the corner of Leopoldo Lugones.
