Milei once again targeted Sánchez: “I already have match point for Pedrito”

Javier Milei redoubled the bet against the president of Spain in the midst of the diplomatic conflict that included the withdrawal of that country’s ambassador in Argentina. “I have match point for Pedrito Sánchez,” said the libertarian.

The President was talking about the creation of money. And he launched a metaphor with the series Zorro, which later led to the acid comment about the president of the government of Spain. “I was fascinated by Zorro. He had two types of enemies. One was Monasterio and his people, who were the State, who took resources to Spain… Uh, they just mentioned Spain to me!” he said, jokingly, Milei. He received applause and laughter. And he added: “Maybe I already have a match point for Pedrito, despite what the media progress says.”

The libertarian closed the congress of Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (Iaef) and was preceded, in the final segment, by the president of the Supreme Court, Horacio Rosatti, and by the minister of Economy, Luis Caputo.

The diplomatic crossing with Spain escalated after the Spanish Minister of Transport, Oscar Puente, suggested that Milei ingested “substances.” The Government responded with a statement issued by the Office of the President and then raised the tension by talking about the investigations for alleged influence peddling against the wife of Pedro Sánchez, whom it also reproached for her explicit support for Sergio Massa before the runoff and that I have never congratulated him on his electoral victory.

This weekend, in his participation in an event by the far-right party Vox, the libertarian continued along the same line. “Even if he has a corrupt wife and takes five days to think,” he said of Sánchez.

Given the new escalation, the Spanish government called its ambassador María Jesús Alonso Jiménez for consultations. But after Milei refused to apologize and accused Sánchez of acting with Kirchnerism to destabilize him, Spain withdrew its top diplomat in Buenos Aires.

Milei said why it is “taking longer to stabilize” and his message to Congress

In a theoretical presentation, he also spoke again about inflation, with new criticisms of the past government. He did so by talking about fixing money quantity as a nominal anchor.

“In the transition, yes, there will be unemployment. Now that we lower inflation, what is the problem: unemployment is generated. And of course, yes, if we are cleaning up the garbage from 1935 onwards. The day the amount of money and when they come from issuing, yes, they are going to have inflation because they are rearranging prices due to the disaster of prices in the last four years, especially in the last year, which was 13 points of GDP.
