Leading voice of Los Caballeros de la Quema, a band that had its greatest exposure in the ’90s; Currently, Iván Noble is also traveling his solo musical path with which he toured the country for more than 20 years. On this train, the singer and composer will return to the province with Pianissimo, a brand new project with which he will go on stage accompanied only by his pianist, this Friday at the Municipal Theater of the City (Miter 41 east)

In conversation with DIARIO DE CUYO, in the middle of a tour that started 2 months ago, Noble confessed that being “a little older”, it is difficult for him to “start and prepare his bags to go on tour” until he goes on stage. “There I forget everything to enjoy this job that gave me more than I thought,” as he added. He also referred to Los Caballeros…, after his stand-by in 2002; and the birth of this “complex” commitment in which he will perform classics from his group and from his solo era in an intimate tone and within a tight schedule that took him along the Argentine coast and Uruguay to then return and play in Córdoba, Buenos Aires. Aires, San Juan – where he said he will take the opportunity to “rest and have some wines” -, Mendoza, Salta, Tucumán, Jujuy and Formosa on a journey that will take him to complete the northern region of the country.

– Is this your first intimate show?

– Pianissimo is the first show of this type with my songs from all time, even from the era of Los Caballeros, but reverted to the piano, the only instrument on stage that will be performed by Rubén Casco, in a very calm and calm show. relaxed in which I will add my guitar to one of the blocks. It is super intimate with the musicality of the piano, the most beautiful instrument of all for popular music.

– How was the reunion with those songs that marked different stages of your life?

– It was a lot of work because there are songs that in their original version are with the entire band and here they take on another character. But that was the great challenge, to bring the themes to a more melodious terrain.

– Did you want to take them out of their comfort zone?

– Yes, totally. They always ask me if it is easier to offer a concert this way and, on the contrary, one is much more exposed. As a singer and performer you are very out in the open, you have no musical containment other than the piano. So it’s more difficult.

–And you can’t hide behind any instrument either…

– That is a good concept, there is no instrument to hide. On the contrary, there is only the piano to which melodies and harmonies must be added.

– What classics can’t be missed?

– Many, such as Toad from another well, Avanti Morocha and Otro Thursday cowarde, among others. And from the last of my solo albums: BienBenito, which is the song I dedicated to my son; Olivia, One minute before I stop loving you, all those who for me are the backbone of what I have been doing all these years and that people always want to listen to.

– How do you get in shape to start spinning?

– They are many years. I started singing in 1993 and, 30 years later, there are still many people who come to see me and enjoy songs that are a generation or so old.

– So your audience expanded?

– There are more and more fathers and mothers who go with their sons and daughters. I’m very happy about that. For me, it is a blessing because they could have easily forgotten about my topics.

– Does your son like to show off the vice of music too?

– He likes to listen to music, not play, and he accompanies me if I play in places that are not far from home. She is already 18 years old and wants to be with her friends.

– If you see yourself in front of a mirror, what reflection do you make of your career?

– It is an undreamed dream. When I was very, very teenager I had music as a hobby, first I had a drum kit, then a guitar and I never thought it would become my job, my profession… If you had told me all the things that happened to me, the places I visited and the artists with whom I shared time and work, I would have found it difficult to believe. That’s why I appreciate it all the time.

– How do you see rock today?

– Clearly, there are other very popular musics such as urban genres, but rock always manages to have new artists and be there telling what is happening but we must accept that there are other musics that take the pulse of the time.

– Because?

– It seems to me that we should not be nostalgic, we should not think that everything in the past was better. Rock will always be there for whoever wants to listen to it, perhaps with more fusions and mixes. But because of my age I don’t frequent new bands.

– In the midst of all this, what moment are Los Caballeros going through today?

– We are active, the thing is that we are not a permanent band. Last year, we did a whole tour with which unfortunately we could not get to San Juan to be part of some of their festivals, and this June 22, we are doing a very big show at the Obras Stadium in Buenos Aires. So, Los Caballeros… we decide to get together when we feel like it and the occasion warrants it. Hopefully! If you have the chance to come to the Fiesta del Sol, it will be a great pleasure.
