On Tuesday, May 21, a new performance of “Schools Go to the Cinema” was held at the Auditorium Theater of the Usina Cultural, aimed at strengthening the link between students and Argentine cinema. 500 primary school students, 5th, 6th and 7th grade, participated, who enjoyed an enriching cinematographic experience.

Young viewers had the opportunity to see the Argentine films “Ciencias Naturales” by Matías Lucchesi and “El Patalarga” by Mercedes Moreira. The screenings not only provided entertainment, but also provided an opportunity for students to discover national stories and experience the magic of seeing them on the big screen.

It should be noted that the functions will continue throughout the month of June.

The Schools Go to the Movies program

The main objective of the initiative is to strengthen the relationship of primary and secondary level students with cinema in general and Argentine cinema in particular. In addition, it seeks for students to discover that national cinema also has stories for them and that seeing them projected on the big screen is a magical experience. Also, it provides a space for debate and reflection among students, program coordinators and the team of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.

This national program is a valuable tool to complement the educational process and promote critical thinking in young people. It is promoted by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts; coordinated and executed in Salta by the Audiovisual Directorate of the Secretary of Culture and the Artistic Education Coordination of the provincial educational portfolio.
