LOGROÑO, May 23. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) in La Rioja begins the electoral campaign in Logroño for the European Parliament Elections, called for next June 9. It attends under the motto ‘Our own path. Vote PCTE’ and do so by criticizing the “genuinely anti-worker character of the European Union (EU),” an organization created and destined “to protect the interests of the business monopolies of this geographical area.”

The candidacy will be headed by Javier Martín, member of the Political Bureau of the PCTE and former Secretary General of the Young Communist Collectives (CJC).

The PCTE has three programmatic axes, such as warning of the “war-mongering policy of the EU, which requires member states to exponentially increase military spending.” Thus, “the recent military escalation, which places the people on the brink of a general war with disastrous consequences for the majority, is nothing other than the result of a struggle for markets and strategic areas that demand that the different imperialist poles (EU, USA) , Russia) greater aggressiveness so as not to lose their spheres of influence.

Furthermore, they have criticized “the so-called digital transformation, or green capitalism”, which constitutes “a crude attempt to whitewash a resource-predating system, which is dedicated to injecting amounts of public money into private companies responsible for energy waste, unlimited consumption of resources, and the astronomical bills that the workers of the EU must bear.

They have also criticized labor and economic policies that “emanate from the EU institutions.” The so-called “flexicurity”, which “is nothing other than the institutionalization in our country of work on demand (Uberization of the economy), where the workforce is at the service of the employers when and until when the employers require it, to at the same time that the loss of purchasing power of the working majority becomes more palpable”.

In this framework, its campaign slogan ‘Our own path’ will emphasize a set of programmatic measures aimed at defending the objective interests of the working-class and popular majority, and which “we will unfold in different events over the next few days.”
