The winter holidays are approaching and in San Juan they are already preparing to spend a few days relaxing in the tourist places of the province. The economic situation that the country is going through means that this type of trips is mostly carried out with financing according to the needs of the people. In this sense, Ariel Giménez Bacur, president of the Association of Travel Agencies of San Juan and businessman in the sector, commented to HUARPE DIARY How the sales of the different packages they offer are going.

“The truth is that Simple Fee financing in 3, 6, 9 and 12 is very good because they can be accommodated to the needs of people who want to purchase a tourist package. They are financial tools that come in handy at this time. There is a fairly complex economic situation where not everyone can afford it and they have the need or desire to travel and this financing helps a lot to make those decisions,” said Giménez Bacur.

Regarding reservations, the businessman explained that “this is just becoming active, we have one more long weekend in between, but he has already begun to see inquiries, some reservations from tourists arriving in the province or from San Juan residents leaving. to do tourism inside and outside the province.”

At the moment many people make inquiries, but indicated that it is important to take into account the details of the services they contract. “We have to analyze why there is so much difference with the services, a two-star hotel is not the same as a three- or four-star hotel; if they take you on a transport with a different service, if you spend a whole day on the bus or making stops in all the places. Many times, cheap is expensive. For a few pesos more there can be a better service.”

Recovery for the sector

The holding of the Mining Expo from May 21 to 23 brought a series of benefits for the tourism sector. In addition to the good numbers in terms of hotel occupancy, there was also an increase in package sales.

“Whenever there is event activity it is good for the province because people come from many places. That adds up and makes the wheel to which we had become accustomed begin to turn, where tourism activity was more comfortable than it is now. A lot of work is being done to reactivate this, but the economic situation is not good,” Bacur concluded.
