(ADN).- The Court of Accounts of Río Negro is auditing the overtime in public hospitals of workers enrolled in Law 1904. The tasks began today and will continue tomorrow in the most important hospitals: Viedma, Bariloche, Roca, Cipolletti and Choele Choel. The Public Service would be carrying out a similar task.

As this agency learned, the objective is to carry out tasks that determine public spending.

There are other organizations that carry out the same action in other portfolios, within the framework of the adjustment proposed by the provincial administration due to the economic crisis. They seek to reduce expenditures due to the drop in co-participation and own collection.

In any case, the arrival of the Court’s technical teams drew attention in the hospitals, because it is an external control. A director indicated that “this could well be done by the Ministry of Health.”

What is not new is the questioning of (discretionary) overtime and guard assignments, which were often used to increase salaries. Public criticism often came from unions – such as UPCN – and other times they did not see the light of day, but were the cause of internal disputes in hospitals, since they did not always respond to the payment of extraordinary tasks or compliance with extended hours.

In the next few days, the conclusions of the survey will be available.
