Through a statement, Mateo Acosta Caro, director of the District Committee of Citizen Force in Santa Marta, announced his irrevocable resignation from the party.
“As the fashion is ‘expel’, I irrevocably renounced my status as a militant and director of the district board of Fuerza Ciudadana Santa Marta,” the letter says.
As stated by Acosta Caro, today it does not identify with many of the practices that have been established in the party. Likewise, he rejects that his status as a district director has been unknown.
“Today, the party’s discourse does not coincide with the actions they carry out, especially with regard to the defense of historically marginalized communities, such as the role of women. Here, instead of separate people accused of gender violence While they are investigated, they are rewarded with political positions. Furthermore, the discourse of the presumption of innocence is used in a selective and convenient manner,” the document says.

Another of the motivations that led him to make this decision are the internal statutes that prohibit political currents within the party.
