In Bucaramanga a complaint is being made alleged massive scam people who have invested in the purchase and exchange of high-end vehicles with the brand land roverprocesses that have been carried out with Josué Vargas, who was the representative of this brand in the capital of Santander until March 2024.

He is the one with whom they would have made or agreed upon a payment business so that customers could obtain the high-cost trucks. TIME was able to learn the version of Fabio Augusto Gómez Navas, who is a man who in January 2022 contacted Vargas and gave him 150 million to remove the vehicle.

In May 2022, Josué Vargas asked him for the other part of the payment for the car and assured him that he would have it within a month. This is how Fabio Gómez Navas He gave him almost 600 million pesos, that, to date, after almost two years, Land Rover never granted him the vehicle.

According to what the victim says, Josué Vargas told him during 2022 that there were delays in the arrival of his car due to its departure from England, also due to manufacturing issues, among other alleged excuses.

To date, Josué has not responded to him for the car and he is no longer in charge of this dealership in Bucaramanga.

“I never went to the dealership, I only spoke on the phone, we saw each other, I told him I was interested in a car, he told me: give me 150 million to reserve a vehicle. It seemed strange to me because it was a lot of money, but he told me that it was an exceptional case, we were coming from a pandemic, he explained to me that it had to be like this, with large amounts because he had lost money with very luxurious cars from which they gave up the business. “He explained to me that it would be arriving in April 2022, it never arrived,” Gomez said.

Fabio is preparing a civil lawsuit, for civil liability against Land Rover, among other legal processes.

About this case, Josué Vargas told THE TIME that has not scammed anyone, that is willing to respond in some wayand he has even met with Gómez and signed several promissory notes in his personal name and not that of the company to respond.

He assured this medium that in 2023 Land Rover seized it for 30 billion of pesos and that is why it did not have, at the time, how to respond for the vehicles that it had agreed to deliver with the clients.

“They seized everything and I couldn’t solve it, they seized my properties, I have several businesses, construction companies, restaurants, I haven’t stopped showing my face to a person. We have found each other,” says Josué Vargas.

In this case there is an inconsistency and that is that Josué Vargas claims that it was repossessed in 2023 and that is why he could not deliver the high-end car, but the purchase and payment of the vehicle was made in 2022.

Another case that this medium was able to learn about is that of Natalia Corzo, a woman who had a Land Rover vehicle and it had defects, for which she decided to hand it over to the dealer to fix it under warranty and after that she did not have the car again since January 2023.

“They took the car and to date I have not seen the car again, I asked Josué to give me a car while it was being repaired, he told me that he did not have one to deliver, but rather to sell. I said no. Months passed, there was no solution, so I decided to buy a car.”

He assured that his truck that entered the workshopsaw in Ruitoque, an exclusive place in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, and Joshua told him that they were testing him.

Finally, the car that came under warranty to Land Rover was sold and the money was never given to him by the company.

Natalia said that Josué had offered her a restaurant or a lot in Cúcuta, proposals that she refused because she had to give more money.

I made the transfer because I trusted the brand, I found out that my car was passed on to someone else because I had a debt, it was a payment of a debt, they told me that they would give the money to me and they never gave it to me. My car is 380 million pesos.”

He assured that, given the negligence, he wrote to the brand and they indicated that Josué should respond, but there is no response of responsibility from the prestigious company.

“How can I pay them, I’m looking at how, I’m looking for the solution, I told Natalia that I had a restaurant,” said Josué Vargas.

Natalia is preparing a civil and criminal complaint for the crime of fraud.

Like these cases, TIME was able to learn of four more cases that in a similar way have trusted the Land Rover brand to invest in high-end vehicles and would have lost their money.

One of them was similar to that of Natalia Corzo who gave up her car for maintenance and it was sold without authorization, money that, apparently, was never returned.

This medium has tried to contact Land Rover to find out its version, but at the moment it has not answered the messages or calls.
