Cali Mayor’s Office asked the Council for permission to reprofile the District’s debt; The draft agreement has already been filed

The Mayor’s Office of Cali filed draft agreement No. 006 with the Council, with the request for authorization to carry out public debt management operations, that is, to reprofile Cali’s debt.

In a letter dated exactly one month ago, the Ministry of Finance returned the request for registration of the re-profiling to the District and reminded it that debt management operations do not increase the total value of the debt. | Photo: Image from El País

Finally, the draft agreement was approached to the Council which, if approved, It will allow Alejandro Eder’s Mayor’s Office to modify the deadlines, grace periods and the capital amortization profile.

This management will free up resources, such as Free Destination Current Income (ICLD), so that the Administration can invest them in strategic city projects, social programs, among others, as previously stated.

The project will be debated initially in the Budget Committee, chaired by Alexandra Hernandez and also composed of Fabio Alonso Arroyave, Audry María Toro, Henry Peláez, Ana Erazo, Carlos Ariel Patiño and Daniella Plaza. If the first debate passes, the second will be held with the plenary session of the Cabildo.
