During the realization of the Córdoba Festival Dance and Sing its Traditions, Bonche de Oro Awards, that took place on this festive long weekend within the framework of the National Livestock Fair, The Government of Córdoba praised the work of cultural managers and artists.

Recognition of those who the governor Erasmo Bechara Zuleta classified as the great protagonists of the arts, music and cultural tradition of the department, took place this Monday at the Montería Convention Center.

Among those who received distinction is Francisco Zumaqué, composer, arranger, producer and orchestra director of Caribbean rhythm. He is one of the 100 great characters of the 20th century in Colombia and composer of ‘Colombia Caribe’, the flagship song of the Colombia Soccer Team. He has worked with internationally renowned artists and was one of the juries of the first version of the Córdoba Danza y Canta sus Tradiciones Festival, Bonche de Oro Awards.

They also highlighted the work of the Ancestral Teachers of San José de Uré, protagonists with the tuna uresana and canta’o dance, which historically represents the cultural identity of the palenque of Córdoba and which have contributed to the historical and cultural memory of its territory; in addition to Adriano Ríos Sossaplastic artist from Loriquez and sculptor with more than 20 years dedicated to creating sculptures that show the tradition and customs of Córdoba.

They were also praised William Fortich Díaz, researcher and cultural manager, expert on issues of intangible cultural heritage and the pelayero joint about which he has written books; Juan Carlos Durante, director of dance and stage shows of the department, with more than 15 years bringing the image of Córdoba to different national and international stages, and Waldino Paternina Amin, painter, sculptor, poet and composer from Cereté. His works exalt representative characters of Córdoba and the country.

They also recognized the winners of the Vallenato 2024 Festival in their different categories. TO Sara Marcela Arango Pérez, dthe La Apartada municipality, which was crowned queen of the Vallenato 2024 Festival; Ángel María González Valdemar, of Lorica, King of the Piqueria; Maikel Andrés Rodiño, from Cotorra, third place in the Rey Vallenato Youth category, and Camilo Andrés Molina Luna, from Montería, third place in the Professional category.
