A thousand Argentine psychologists residing in Spain can now homologate your academic degreesafter the intense efforts before the authorities of that European country to avoid the cumbersome and long procedures that had to be done until now.

The Ministry of Human Capital, through the Ministry of Education of the Nation, managed the resolution that allows the homologation of the degrees of Bachelor and Graduate in Psychology and Psychologist and Psychologist – “psychology degrees” – issued by Argentine universities, centers or institutions. The measure affects psychology professionals residing in Spain who will have a favorable opinion for their degrees. The efforts started during the previous government.

The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) of Spain, published a resolution on May 10 of this year specifying that applications for homologation to the official Spanish title of Master of General Health Psychologist coming from Argentine universities, will be favorably informed.

The National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) of Argentina evaluates the standards corresponding to professions regulated by the State, the exercise of which could compromise the public interest, directly putting the health, safety, rights, property or training of the inhabitants at risk (Art. 43 Law 24,521). The standards used in Argentina are of an international level, so the accredited courses are related to Argentine universities, as well as other countries in the world.

The regulation of these degrees by the CONEAU together with the ANECA review of more than 160 files from different study plans from Argentine universities, has allowed a comparison to be made between the Argentine regulation and the Spanish regulation of the official degree that leads to the profession of General Health Psychologist which reveal a series of coincidences between the workload of the degree and the external academic practices, competencies and content of a health nature, and both regulations contemplate the presentation of a final work.

According to ANECA, “it is ultimately about transferring to foreign degrees whose homologation is requested the same verification criteria established by current regulations for degrees offered by Spanish universities that give access to regulated professions.” In this way, based on the impulse generated by the Undersecretary of University Policies of the Ministry of Education (SSPU), the homologation of psychology degrees in Spanish territory.
