Almost 350 PhD students attend the 12th Congress of Research Personnel in Training of the UCOAJ GONZÁLEZ

TheUniversity of Cordoba begins 12th Congress of Research Personnel in Training with almost 350 participants of 23 nationalities. Throughout the day, there will be presentations 207 oral presentations in 17 work sessionsin which UCO Doctoral students will have the opportunity to establish synergies and learn about research in different branches of knowledge.

The conference began this Wednesday at the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing of the academic institution. Throughout the entire day, the participants, assigned to the twelve Doctorate programs that the University of Córdoba has, will present more than 200 oral communications, in which they will summarize the main results of their research.

Depending on their theme and modality, the exhibitions are grouped into 17 work sessions in which different discussion tables are formed, thus encouraging participation, exposure and discussion among the students. In addition, at the closing ceremony, prizes will be awarded for the best communications from each session.

In person and online

The event, in which they alternate face-to-face communications and on-linehas been inaugurated this morning by the dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing, Luis Jiménez, the vice-rector of Graduate Studies, Cristina Aguilar, and the general director of Graduate Studies, Sergio Castrowho has highlighted the relevance of this congress to transmit “a knowledge that needs to be shared” and break with “an individualism that should never characterize quality research.”

For her part, the vice-rector for Postgraduate Studies has pointed out the importance of the Doctorate stage “for the intellectual growth of research staff” and has stressed the need for transversal training as a “point of exchange of experiences, opinions and ideas”.

The congress program, which has 16 people in charge of moderating the different communications – two of them in English – also includes two presentations by Dr. Vanesa Cantón, researcher in the Department of Nursing, Pharmacology and Physiotherapy, and Marco Antonio Calzado. , professor at the University of Córdoba assigned to the Department of Biology, Physiology and Immunology.

Research staff interaction

The event, among other objectives, seeks promote interaction and facilitate communication between research staff, publicize the different lines of work, promote multidisciplinarity and contribute to professional and personal development of the participating people.

The meeting, organized by the UCO doctoral schools, the UCO Doctoral School, ED-UCO, and the International Doctoral School in Agri-Food, EIDA3 (Córdoba Headquarters), has the participation of 34 specialists in charge of reviewing the different communications and with the support of 31 people who have made up the organizing committee.
