Authorities immobile in the face of disappearance of minors in Casanare

Last Friday, June 7, a 14-year-old girl disappeared after leaving Jorge Eliecer Gaitán school. According to a friend of hers, he accompanied her to 24th Street near the headquarters of the Yopal fire department, but then no more was heard from the young woman.

The family reacted immediately when the person who used to pick up the girl from school did not find her. The mother tried to communicate by telephone, without success. The family posted an alert on social media, warning the entire community about the possible kidnapping of the minor.

The girl was found wandering the streets of downtown Yopal, and her statements about the hours she was missing were disturbing.

According to her story, a woman had contacted her months ago via cell phone, proposing that she participate in a casting for a modeling company. On the day of the events, they agreed to meet in the park in the Covisedca neighborhood, on 25th Street and 15th Street. There, the woman kept the minor’s cell phone, blocked the mother to avoid calls, and deleted her social media history.

Then, he took the girl downtown and left her at a cafe, promising her details about an alleged trip; The girl waited for about an hour and then she got tired and left the establishment and it was there where she was seen by some acquaintances who identified her and reported her discovery.

It is alarming that these people contact girls through social networks and convince them to go with strangers. In this case, it is presumed that when the woman checked the girl’s cell phone and saw the intense search for her that she was being subjected to, she decided to abandon her at the center.

The description of the woman is relevant: slim build, green eyes, blonde hair with a mole on her right wrist, possibly of Venezuelan nationality. It is believed that he contacted her approximately a year ago in Duitama.

In recent months, multiple cases of missing minor girls have been reported throughout the department. Some have reappeared days later, but nothing is still known about others; The most recent case reported is that of a minor who disappeared last week from the San José del Bubuy sector in Aguazul. The 14-year-old teenager goes by the name of Vanessa Yaritza Adame Rivas, who disappeared on Monday afternoon ; Her family requested information about her whereabouts at number 314 3456166.

These people exploit the naivety of minors, offering them a better life, and then including them in prostitution and child pornography networks; The authorities have not commented on the issue, and there are no precise statistics on how many minors are missing.

It is urgent that entities such as the ICBF, Children and Adolescents, mayors and the governorate carry out prevention campaigns to protect girls from these criminal networks.

It is curious that the tactic that this woman used to convince this minor is the same one used by the kidnappers in the film “Sounds of Freedom” that addresses the issue of child trafficking in Latin America.
