The end of a cinematographic era in San Juan: the CPM Cinema closed

The entertainment landscape in San Juan suffered a significant setback with the closure of the CPM Cinema cinema, located in the renowned Espacio San Juan shopping center in Rivadavia. With five theaters that had remained inactive since January, the news of the definitive closure has shaken the local community and the movie buffs who used to frequent the place, leaving a void in the region’s cinema offering and marking the end of a period for lovers of the seventh art in San Juan.

Since its opening in June 2017, CPM Cinema has become a meeting point for film fans in the region, offering a variety of films and cinema experiences to suit all tastes. However, the economic crisis that began to affect the country last year and that persisted this year has led to the closure of this establishment, leaving a mark in the history of entertainment in San Juan.

Located on the right wing of the first floor of the shopping center, the cinema was an integral part of the shopping and entertainment experience at Espacio San Juan. Its closure leaves a void both for regular spectators and for the shopping center itself.

Despite this blow to the local film offering, film lovers in San Juan still have options to enjoy the latest releases on the big screen. Currently, they can go to Cinemacenter, located in HiperLibertad, or Play Cinema, in Patio Alvear, to satisfy their passion for the seventh art. However, the closure of CPM Cinema leaves a gap that will be difficult to fill for those who frequented this particular venue.
