Senate exalts Natalia Linares, student and athlete from Unimagdalena

Natalia Linares González, athlete and sixth semester student of the Professional Sports Program at the University of Magdalena, received exaltation for her sports career in a plenary session of the Senate of the Republic of Colombia.

This mention of recognition awarded in Bogotá DC at the Congress venue, comes after his latest achievements in America and Europe, with which he assured his classification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games that will be held from July 26 to August 11 .

Senator Didier Lobo Chinchilla was the applicant for recognition of Natalia Linares, which was recorded in Resolution No. 95 of 2024 of the Senate of the Republic, where this House of Studies is mentioned as the academic trainer of the Valduparense athlete.

The athlete, who proudly represents Colombia and has given it multiple glories in athletics, has won medals in all competitions of the Olympic Cycle; such as, gold in Austria, France, Bulgaria, Estonia and Brazil; and silver medal in Germany.

Among his recent performances he has stood out in the Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia; Chile Pan American Games; Central Americans from El Salvador, Ibero-Americans from Brazil and South Americans.

Natalia Linares has been characterized by raising the name of this House of Higher Studies, since much of her dedication as an athlete has been complemented by her training as a student at the University of Magdalena, through the Center for the Regionalization of Education and Opportunities – BELIEVE.

Master Wilson Velásquez Bastidas, director of CREO, recognized his human qualities and sports skills, showing satisfaction for the national and international achievements with which he has left evidence of his bravery and gallantry.

“We are happy at the Institution and we are proud of Natalia. UNIMAGDALENA is contributing a lot to the sport,” said Mr. Wilson Velásquez.

In accordance with the 2020-2030 Development Plan, the University of Magdalena, with the leadership of the rector Pablo Vera Salazar, continues with the purpose of supporting sports, with the goal of training comprehensive and humanistic athletes who generate positive transformations in the territory. .
