Triple homicide investigated in Florida, Valle del Cauca

A triple homicide was reported in the neighborhoodNew Florida Horizonlocated in the southeast ofCauca’s Valley. According to witnesses, men aboard a truck began shooting at people who were socializing on public roads in the area.

According to preliminary information from the Departmental Police, the attackers were alleged members of the frontDagoberto Ramos‘ of the Central General Staff of the dissidents.

The victims died at the scene due to theseverity of injuriesand, according to the institution, they had criminal records.

“The National Policewill continue working with the team specialized in intelligence and criminal investigation articulated with the Prosecutor’s OfficeGeneral of the Nation to achieve the capture of those responsible,” said the institution, through a statement.

Upon learning of the fact, the authorities ofFlorida and the Government of Valle del CaucaThey held an extraordinary security council at the Marriott hotel in Cali to establish lines of investigation that would clarify the triple homicide.

“It should be noted thatTwo of the murdered people have charges for crimes such as illegal possession of firearms and personal injury.We have convened an extraordinary security council to address this situation and follow up on the early warning issued by the Ombudsman’s Office,” said Jhon Herrera, Secretary of the Government of Florida, Valle del Cauca.

It should be remembered that theOmbudsman’s Officeissued an early warning indicating the escalation of the armed conflict and direct violence in the territory between the south of Valle del Cauca and the north of Cauca. This was evidenced not only by the presence and control of the armed groups present,but also for entering these areasof other illegal armed structures that did not have, until 2023, interference or permanent action in those municipalities.
