An armed confrontation between alleged members of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ and the Police,left three alleged criminals dead and one captured.

The events occurred in the rural area of Roldanillo, north of Valle del Cauca, whenThe authorities surprised the aforementioned members of the ‘Clan del Gofo’, inside a homewho started shooting.
“These people were posing asGaitanista Self-Defense Forces of the Clan del Golfo, making economic demands on ranchers and peasants in the sectorthrough intimidation with a firearm, under threats of death, those who did not comply with their economic demands were forced to move from the place,” said theColonel Santiago Garavito Commander (E) of the Valle Police Department.
The alleged members of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ killed were identified as:Yefer Mosquera, native of Novita, Chocó, 27 years old, Carlos Londoño, from Tuluá, Valle del Cauca, 19 years oldand the third body is pending identification.
Meanwhile,The person captured in flagrante delicto was identified as José Miguel Yepes, 26 years old.native of Soledad, Atlántico.
According to the authorities,The residence where the events occurred would be being used by alleged members of the organization who would be strengthening themselves with men and weapons.apparently using them for the storage of war material, seeking to expand and take control over the municipalities and townships located in the rural region of the western mountain range.
“Allegedly,The armed group would be strengthening in order to generate confrontation against the ELN and take controlof the alkaloid production and processing areas located in the so-called “Tick Canyon”, being highly drivers of violence,” the officer pointed out.
